Photos to Fabric

One or Two Days

Students will explore ways to put their digital pictures onto cloth. Methods include direct printing and a variety of transfer techniques.

If students are already familiar with these techniques they can bring their images on fabric and they will examine innovative ways to include imagery in their quilted projects. These include fabric photo books, collage and landscapes.

To enable printing on fabric, I will need to bring my printer so a workshop within driving distance is preferred.

Bobbin Quilting with Thick Threads allows students to enrich their quilt or garment surfaces with thick threads that are too large for a machine needle. Students will learn the secrets for "back to front" quilting. Machine couching for thick and fuzzy threads will also be included.
